Pisidia Heritage Trail
Pisidia Heritage Trail Tour
Guided by Dr. Işılay Gürsu
The Pisidia Heritage Trail was developed after five years of collaborative work between the British Institute at Ankara (BIAA) and Equinox Travel. This impressive 350-km route connects lesser-known ancient Pisidian cities—Ariassos, Sia, Milyas, Selge, Termessos, Pednelissos—and the mountain villages and spectacular landscapes surrounding the Köprülü Canyon. For more information about the project and the interpretive guidebook see: https://pisidiaheritagetrail.com/en
Pisidia is a region where nature remains largely untouched: unpaved roads, preserved forests, and Yörük communities still living traditional lifestyles. As a result, the hiking routes may be challenging for those accustomed to flat terrain. Expect steep ascents and descents, rocky and occasionally slippery paths, alongside stretches of gentle forest tracks.

Why Pisidia?
Pisidia is the ancient name of the mountainous region north of Antalya. This tour introduces participants to the natural and cultural heritage of this remarkable historical landscape. Although often promoted today as “St Paul’s Way,” the well-known long-distance route differs from the actual roads used by St Paul. His journey took him through the Döşeme Pass from Pamphylia into Pisidia, then through Senirkent and Keçiborlu before reaching Pisidian Antiocheia (Yalvaç).
During this tour you will follow parts of these ancient roads while also discovering lesser-known ancient cities and the breathtaking natural environment of Pisidia.
