Cities of Lycia: Archeology and Landscape
This archaeology and nature tour, following the surroundings of the Lycian Way, explores some of the most beautiful cities of Lycia. We visit major Lycian centers such as Phaselis, one of Lycia’s most important harbors, the world-famous Chimera (Yanartaş) of mythology, and Olympos, hidden among laurel forests. Along the route, we also explore impressive Lycian cities including Limyra, Arykanda, Myra, and its harbor Andriake, as well as the lesser-known mountain city of Kyaneai. We get to know smaller Lycian settlements such as Simena, Apollonia, and Aperlai, and hike one of the most scenic sections of the Lycian Way between Apollonia and Aperlai.In western Lycia, we visit Patara, the birthplace of St. Nicholas and home to one of the longest beaches in the Mediterranean, followed by Xanthos, the political capital of the Lycian League.On the final days, we explore the dramatic mountain cities of Pınara and Sidyma, and visit Kayaköy near Fethiye.The journey includes plenty of nature walks and is crowned with a magnificent Kekova boat tour, blending archaeology, landscape, and the sea into a truly immersive Lycian experience.
